Writing messages (flipps)

Every time you sign in you go to your home page that contains the stream of flipps for you.

There is that "What are you doing?" form there so you can write flipps and they will appear right in your stream.

Other people on Flipp.me

Flipp.me is only useful if you interact with other people. You can Invite friends or explore who is out there to follow them.

Following

When you open a user's profile you will see the link "FOLLOW" on the right (you need to sign in to your account for that). If you click it you will from now on receive this user's flipps to your stream on the home page.

When you no longer want to follow a person you need to click "UNFOLLOW" button on their profile page to stop receiving their flipps.

Advanced flipping

@username <your message>
You can write other users' names in your flipps. When you put @ before user's name it will get linked to their profile in the resulting flipp. You can use this to address your message to a particular one of your followers so everybody knows it. You can insert as many names as you want.

Also, any user who's name is mentioned in your flipp will receive it even if they do not follow you. You can use this to introduce yourself to the one not following you yet.

Channels

A channel is a specific topic that you can easily set up and track with other users. A channel has its own stream of flipps that you can overview. Example: http://flipp.me/c-flippme.

To subscribe to a new channel just enter its name on that page and hit "Subscribe".

When you subscribe for a channel you will also receive its flipps directly to your own stream on the home page. To add messages to a channel you need to include the following in your flipps: #channel_name.
